The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey are planning to provide for a high-density container handling facility at Port Ivory to service the adjacent Howland Hook Marine Terminal.

PANY&NJ required conceptual planning within strict physical parameters for differing rail-track lead-ins, track layouts and container handling equipment options to include Rail Stackers, Top-lift loaders, Rubber Tired Gantries and Rail-Mounted Gantries to service direct delivery container operations, which were provided by NNPInc. Options to maximise operational throughputs and critiques of previous reviews were also made. Evaluation of the submitted options is awaited.
