Nigel Nixon and Partners, Inc. were commissioned to undertake the design of the paving system at the Gateway Center development in Los Angeles. The paving comprises clay brick pavers set on a sand bed. The substrate is the parking garage roof structure. Our scope of work was to undertake the design of the paving system and produce drawings and specifications for the works. We also designed and monitored a test section and advised our client, Ehrenkrantz & Eckstut, on the use of similar systems worldwide. During construction we provided site observation services and currently advise the owner on maintenance requirements. Project status – complete.
